This is a 10-year-old Islay Whiskey 70% aged in bourbon casks, 25% in Spanish oak sherry quarter casks, and 5% in ‘mystery’ casks from The Character of Islay Whiskey Company.

On the nose, you’ll get vegetal notes to start, followed by hints of salty air brought about by a coastal breeze with underlying peat that isn’t too overpowering.
On the palate, top notes of sweet honey with a hint of savouriness are followed by underlying peat. This is followed by hints of light lemon zest that appear. Overall, the mouthfeel is relatively oily, with not too long a finish.
